يكرس الأطباء والعلماء في مايو كلينك جهودهم لتطوير خيارات المعالجة الإشعاعية لمريضات سرطان الثدي. ويُجرى هذا البحث كجزء من برامج مركز مايو كلينك الشامل لعلاج السرطان الذي يتضمن برنامج علاج السرطان للنساء. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تتميز مايو كلينك بأنها واحدة من المراكز الطبية القليلة المعترف بها ضمن البرامج المتخصصة للتميز البحثي لأبحاث سرطان الثدي، وتموَّل من المعهد الوطني للسرطان في الولايات المتحدة.
