Clinical trials Below are current clinical trials.553 studies in Oncology (Medical) (open studies only). Filter this list of studies by location, status and more. A Trial of Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha and Interleukin-2 Coding Oncolytic Adenovirus (TILT-123) Combined with Pembrolizumab to Treat Refractory Ovarian Cancer Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety [including dose-limiting toxicities (DLTs)] of the combination therapy of TILT-123 and pembrolizumab in patients with platinum resistant or refractory ovarian cancer. Specialty Compared to Oncology Delivered Palliative Care for Treating Acute Myeloid Leukemia Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether primary palliative care is an alternative strategy to specialty palliative care for improving quality of life, symptoms, mood, coping, and end of life outcomes in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Testing the Addition of MEDI4736 (Durvalumab) to Chemotherapy Before Surgery for Patients With High-Grade Upper Urinary Tract Cancer Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of adding durvalumab to chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone before surgery in treating patients with upper urinary tract cancer. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as durvalumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Chemotherapy drugs, such as methotrexate, vinblastine, doxorubicin, cisplatin, and gemcitabine work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Durvalumab in combination with chemotherapy before surgery may enhance the shrinking of the tumor compared to chemotherapy alone. A Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness and Safety of Pembrolizumab Combined with Bacillus Calmette-Guerin in High-Risk Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to assess the antitumor efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab in combination with BCG, compared to BCG monotherapy, in participants with HR NMIBC that is either persistent or recurrent following adequate BCG induction or that is naïve to BCG treatment. A Study to Determine the Outcomes of Patients With Localized B Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (B-LLy) When Treated With Standard Risk B-ALL Therapy Rochester, Minn. AALL1731 is a group-wide risk-stratified trial for children with newly diagnosed B-ALL and localized B-lymphoblastic lymphoma (B-LLy) that will test if the addition of blinatumomab to standard chemotherapy in patients with NCI SR B-ALL at highest risk for relapse will improve disease-free survival (DFS). Risk stratification will be determined by traditional prognosticators (tumor genetics, extent of extramedullary involvement, early response to therapy as determined by flow cytometry) combined with the new DNA-based MRD detection technology of high throughput sequencing (HTS) of the immunoglobulin heavy chain (IgH). Metastatic Tumor Research and Outcomes Network Rochester, Minn. The registry aims to collect patient information such as patient demographics, co-morbidities, clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic data, as well as information on adverse events and HRQOL outcomes specific for patients with metastatic spine tumor(s). A Study of Daunorubicin and Cytarabine With or Without Uproleselan in Treating Older Adult Patients With Acute Myeloid Leukemia Receiving Intensive Induction Chemotherapy Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well daunorubicin and cytarabine, with or without uproleselan, works in treating older adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia receiving intensive induction chemotherapy. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as daunorubicin and cytarabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Uproleselan may prevent cancer from returning or getting worse. Giving daunorubicin and cytarabine with uproleselan may work better in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia compared to daunorubicin and cytarabine alone. BiCaZO: A Study Combining Two Immunotherapies (Cabozantinib and Nivolumab) to Treat Patients With Advanced Melanoma or Squamous Cell Head and Neck Cancer, an immunoMATCH Pilot Study Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of molecular characterization based on tumor mutational burden (TMB) for participant stratification, as assessed by the proportion of participants with less than or equal to a 21-day turnaround time for biopsy results in Stage I of the study. Also, to evaluate the feasibility of molecular characterization based on TMB and gene expression profiling (GEP) (for TIS - tumor inflammation signature) for stratification in the overall study (Stage I and Stage II). Additinoally, to evaluate the effectiveness by overall response rate (ORR – defined as confirmed and unconfirmed partial responses plus complete responses) of cabozantinib plus nivolumab in each disease cohort, both across and within tumor biomarker subgroups. A Study to Collect Medical and Personal Histories, Blood and/or Tumor Tissue Samples from Patients Who are Long-term Survivors of Lung Cancer Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to collect medical and personal histories, blood and/or tumor tissue samples from patients who are long-term survivors of lung cancer. This study will help us to develop better ways to provide care and advice, develop better treatments to minimize long-term side effects, and improve the quality of life and outcome of lung cancer patients. This study will also help us to learn whether certain genes (inherited factors from your parents) increase the risk of developing or dying of lung cancer. A Registry Study for the Long-Term Outcomes of Radiation Therapy Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this long term registry study is to collect and analyze information from patients being treated with various forms of radiation therapy to improve the treatment of future patients. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
