Clinical trials Below are current clinical trials.79 studies in Radiology (open studies only). Filter this list of studies by location, status and more. Ferromagnetic Detection of Cardiac Devices using a Metrasens Screener Rochester, Minn. The purpose is to conduct a study that determines the efficiency of FMDS in pre MRI screening for detecting cardiac implants in a Mayo Clinic environment. Potential Benefit of Photon-counting CT in Human Subjects Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to to examine the ability of photon counting computed tomography (PCCT) to reduce calcium blooming and beam-hardening artifacts adjacent to bone, to use decreased dose levels without altering contrast-to-noise, and to improve discrimination of very small structures using the system’s increased spatial resolution. A Study to Evaluate Evacuation Mechanisms Using Advanced Brain Imaging Rochester, Minn. The objective of this study is to compare the central neural circuitry with fMRI (7T) in 30 asymptomatic healthy controls, 30 constipated patients without DD, and 30 constipated patients with DD at rest (functional connectivity analysis), during rectal distention to desire to defecate and urgency, and during evacuation. 3D Ultrasound Imaging for Breast Cancer Diagnosis Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveess of a new 3D ultrasound imaging technology combining B-mode, microvessel imaging, shear wave elastography, and machine learning for breast lesion diagnosis. A Study to Evaluate Improving PET Image Quality and Quantification by Using Motion Correction, Parametric Imaging and MAP Reconstruction Rochester, Minn. The aims of this research project are to assess the effectiveness of motion correction software for patients undergoing PET brain scans, to assess the data acquisition and image processing workflow for parametric analysis of brain and whole body scans, and to assess the quality of PET images reconstructed with maximum a posteriori (MAP) reconstruction algorithm. A Study of Change in Imaging Biomarkers of Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB) and Associations with Cognitive and Functional Decline Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla. Longitudinal Imaging Biomarkers of Disease Progression in Prodromal and Overt DLB A Study to Evaluate Noninvasive Ultrasound Elastography of Kidney and Lung in Assessment of Volume Status in ICU Patients Rochester, Minn. The primary purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility of performing lung and kidney and lung ultrasound elastography among patients with critical illness from different etiologies that could be associated with volume overload. A Study to Evaluate Ultrasound Microvessel Imaging Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to find out the optimal acquisition parameters for ultrasound microvessel imaging in healthy volunteers. Medical and Resource Facilitation Intervention After Traumatic Brain Injury (MRFI) Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine if there are changes in mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and/or repetitive head impacts (RHI) detectible with multiparametric MR Elastography (MRE). The hypothesis is that multiparametric MR Elastography will detect changes in the mechanical properties of human head tissues in patients following head traumas. A Study of Lutetium Lu 177 Dotatate (Lutathera®) in Patients with Inoperable, Progressive Meningioma after External Beam Radiation Therapy Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to estimate the efficacy of LUTATHERA treatment in patients with recurrent grade 1 meningioma as measured by 6-month PFS rate, and to estimate the efficacy of LUTATHERA treatment in patients with recurrent grade 2 or 3 meningioma as measured by 6-month PFS rate. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
